"Starry, Starry Night" 34.5cm wide X 31cm We had been trekking in Norway amongst the steeply cut fjords and I started to re-interpret them as glacial edges with icebergs carving from them. Indigo dyed blues; sea heavily machine stitched with metallic threads; ice machine stitched brilliant white cotton with metallic threads; stars are many, many french knots. "Adventures in Snow and Ice" I know it's not the best of photographs, but it's very difficult to photograph white on white. Exhibited at the 2015 "In the Spotlight" Gallery Festival of Quilts, "Adventures in Wonderland". Inspired by the many adventures I and my friends have had in the mountains. Snow, Avalanche - Many, many small pieces of various white fabrics covered with wedding veil netting, appliqued with free machine stitching, cut and resown with beading. Ice - cotton background with various lutrador, angelina fibers and organdi, heavily creased and heavily stitched into place. Adventures - The background is the same as snow but with photos printed onto cotton and inserted into the background.

I have been spending time using indigo dyes trying to achieve the effect of the icy slush that develops on lumpy seas in really cold parts of the world. The pieces that weren''t right were made into a lap quilt using a traditional potato chip design
The rest were made into this bag.
